5 website essentials that drive business growth

How do you make sure your website actively generates growth for your business?

Make sure you have these 5 website essentials.

1. Compelling visuals & branding.

The first few seconds that a user spends on their website are *essential* for capturing their attention and ultimately their business.

Striking imagery, engaging graphics, and well-designed layouts not only grab attention but also communicate your brand message effectively.

But you don't just want your website to look pretty — it also needs to appeal specifically to your target audience. Figure out who they are and what they like, combine that with what best represents your brand, and go from there.

2. Intuitive navigation.

Your website must have a clear structure & roadmap so users can find exactly what they're looking for. Predict exactly what information visitors might want from your website and then imagine where they would intuitively expect to find it.

For example, where would users expect to find your business hours? What information would they expect to find on an About page?

Organize your website pages & content structure like an outline, and make it easy for users to navigate through each page with a clear menu.

3. Clear Calls-to-Action (CTAs).

Every page on your website should have a purpose, with a specific action you want the user to take. Otherwise, your website is a dead end that does not support business growth.

For example, after reading your Services page, what action do you want your visitors to take?

Implement clear and strategically placed call-to-action buttons that prompt users to contact you, make a purchase, or subscribe to your communications. Use compelling language and design elements to draw attention to these key touchpoints.

4. Mobile responsiveness.

Have you looked at your website on your phone recently? If you've only considered how your website looks on desktop computers, you're probably missing a huge portion of your audience who visits your site on mobile.

Making sure your website design is responsive means it will easily adapt to different screen sizes, providing a consistent and enjoyable experience across smartphones, tablets, and desktops.

Google also favors mobile-friendly websites — so making sure your website is responsive will improve your search engine rankings!

5. A personal touch.

This one is highly underrated! The best way to earn someone's business is by establishing trust through a personal connection. Communicate with authenticity throughout your website, and include information about yourself so your audience can relate to the human behind the brand.

This doesn't have to mean slapping your photo across your website. But at the very least having a section on your About page where people can see your face and get to know you a bit better can go a long way to encourage visitors to reach out to you.

And make sure it's easy for visitors to get in touch, so include contact information (email form, social media handles, phone number, etc) with a CTA in an intuitive location.
